Ethan just started calling Grandpa "Popies" for some reason he likes to add "ies" to everyone's name. I'm Mommies, Drew is Drew but sometimes Daddies :) and Grandma is Gwamas :) Love that crazy little kid.

Johnny is 7 months old and its hard to believe that in 5 short months he will be 1!

He is such a happy baby and a joy to be around, although he does have a little attitude sometimes when he doesn't get what he wants buy hey we all do right? :) Here are some of his stats

20lbs-60th percentile

23 inches long 95th percentile

15inch head-50th percentile

size 5 diapers

He wears anywhere from 9 months to 18 months clothing .

He has the best chubby checks and has one tooth going on two.

Johnny LOVES Ethan and anytime Ethan is being silly which is quite often Johnny lets out a contagious laugh. Ethan and Johnny laugh alike as well. Sometimes Ill have to ask " who was that?"

He is a great sleeper but sometimes will wake up and want a bottle and of course mommy :) He loves his "Johnny Jumper" and really gets going in that thing. He can sit up alone if he has a toy to hold on to to keep his concentration and he is starting the rocking back and fourth motion when he is on his knees. I'm sure it wont be too much longer until we have two that are mobile! I'm already so excited for his first birthday that I have started to plan it ..not that I want to rush his sweet baby years but I get so excited to celebrate my babies!

Johnny is also very ticklish especially on his chunky thighs:)

I shouldn't say little I should say big baby boy. Johnny is very long and well proportioned:) Weighing in at 20lbs .

He's starting to really teeth and isn't enjoying it. Not like anyone would enjoy it..

He LOVES Ethan. Anything about Ethan he just adores and is in complete awe of. It's so fun to watch them together and know that one day very soon they will be best buds. Johnny wears the same size diapers as Ethan does(size 5) which is pretty convenient:)

I'm kind of having a hard time putting him in his crib because I just love the fact that I can touch him in the middle of the night in his bassinet. Not that he's up in the middle of the night but its just comforting for both of us. I can't help that I get so attached to my babies:)

If Johnny was a baby wrestler his stage name would be "Johnny The Flesh Ripper". Any time you try to change his diaper he wraps his chunky little legs around your arms like a snake then attacks your arms and digs his fingers into your skin..OUCH! He did that the other day to my eye! He's a pro at rolling over and hes starting to be mobile when on his belly . He can sit up for a couple seconds by himself.

The other day Ethan and Johnny took their first bath together and Johnny thoroughly enjoyed Ethan's company :) He is loving his Johnny Jumper and excersaucer and loves to hop just like his big bro ....who would of thought . He wears 12 month to 18 month size clothes right now and looks fab in all his outfits thanks to mom;)

Johnny loves riding in cars, laughing at his daddy, giving mommy kisses, bananas. applesauce and grunting very very loud!

This year like every year we went to G.Gs house for Thanksgiving. Everyone was there this year ! I love that there are so many children in our family, they get along so well and have a fun time playing together. I look forward to holidays for that reason and also to spend quality time with all my in laws. I'm truly so blessed to have them as my family. Besides my mom they are really the only family I have ever known and they are so amazing .

I'm so thankful for Drew, Ethan, Johnny, my mom, my brothers and sister and all of Drew's family. I have a lot to be thankful for . We are a very blessed family.

Auntie Amy brought a fun activity along with her this year. The kiddos were to make homemade butter by shaking cream in a mason jar with a marble inside. Here's Ethan with his butter!

Ethan wore this Thanksgiving outfit on his first Thanksgiving as well when he was 9 months old. Johnny is in 12 month clothes already! The outfit says Thankful for Mommy and Daddy:) Of course he's thankful for his big brother too.

How amazing does Drew's grandma look? She's so beautiful. I love giving her hugs because she always smells so sweet ;) These are only her great -grandchildren from her daughters side she has a son too and there are 4 more and 1 on the way! I'm sure she has lots more to look forward to as well:) We'll have to try to get one like this on Christmas with all 11 great-grand kids.

Trip or Treak!

Ethan had such a fun time "Trip or Treking" as he calls it on Halloween . This was the first year we brought him to houses to get candy. I truly love our neighborhood. There were a ton of kids running around the streets with their costumes on going door to door. It reminded me of when I was a kid and I remember how fun it was to be with my friends trick or treating. Ethan would walk right up to the door with daddy and put his "pumpkey" out for the nice people to put his candy in. After awhile they would let Ethan pick and he always tried to grab a handful:) We went with Brian and Christina (Johnny's God Parents) which made it that much more fun for all of us. Drew dressed as Jason. Brian was a baker, Christina had a witches hat on and I was a cat. This was one of my favorite Halloweens by far.

Besides the candy I think his favorite part was holding the flashlight. He would shine the light in the people's face opening the door for him haha.

I was surprised that Ethan kept his wig on all night, what a good sport.

Johnny was so tired he just feel asleep in my arms...love love that!

Weighing in at 18.5lbs and "standing" 27 inches tall with an average size head is the one and only JOHNNY BANANAS!

He is always so smiley and I just love his giggle. When I put my chin on his ribcage he does a big belly laugh! His favorite place to be still is on his changing table . He LOVES to listen to me and Ethan sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Anytime he sees Ethan's face doing something silly he laughs. Nothing is more amazing to see than your children interacting and showing love for one another. Johnny can roll from his back to front and front to back, although he dislikes tummy time. He sleeps about 10hrs a night on average. He has always been a good night sleeper. He does need some help with his naps. It's becoming a trend in our house to have our children not like nap time. Maybe it has something to do with Drew and I both being softies and not like hearing our kids cry. Ehhh who knows. Johnny is also eating real food now and who would of guessed that his favorite food would be bananas?:) He is also teething, poor little guy:( His face is all rosie and he is a drool machine! We all love you so much Nanners!

Favorite time of day is bath time. He loves to kick and splash!

I have been so so behind on my blog so I wanted to update it with a post for Ethan who is now 2.5 years old. Ethan says pretty much anything you say . He loves Buzz, Woody, Lightning McQueen, Curious George and The Little Einsteins. Ethan knows all sorts of musical instruments, he even knows what a piccolo is:) Smart boy. He loves his brother and I love the way Ethan calls him "Donny". His favorite game to play right now is "I cha cho" which means "I got you". Its kinda like tag except he is the only one being tagged:) He knows all sorts of shapes and colors, I'm so proud of him. Ethan is funny, sometimes we catch him talking with a British accent which I'm sure isn't intentional but it sound like this.. "ehh it is!" meaning "there it is!" He also says " Shut it down!" if you have ever heard Gordan Ramsey tell his kitchen staff to " Shut it down!" that's where he gets it from . Maybe that's where the British accent comes in?:)Ethan I love your kisses and the noises we make we make when we're about to kiss MUUUHHHAAAA! I love your hugs and the way you look at daddy and I when your happy. I love that you still loved to be rocked at night , you'll always be my baby. I love the way you smell ..most of the time :)and I love to rub your soft head on my face. I love you Monkey Face.

Look at your beautiful eyes! Your going to be such a ladies man :)Also know that your NOT allowed to date until your 30;)Seriously.

PS. I must add that while your a smart, fun and beautiful child you also have your days. Every nap you have you wake up like a bat out of hell! You cry/whine for an hour after you wake up and there is no consoling you at all. Nothing helps your nap time woes. Still love you though little one:)

5k Monster Dash

" She did the monster dash...the monster dash!!"

I did it in 43.27 that's 12.2 min a mile. One of my goals in life was to do a 5k and I did it 4 months after my second son was born. I almost cried when I reached the finish line. I felt a sense of relief mixed with being proud and happy all at the same time. Next 5k I want to beat my time. This was a cool 5k to do because all 7,000 runners were dressed up in Halloween costumes along with some of their dogs. It was really really neat to see all of the unique costumes.

His God Parents are our wonderful and loving friends Brian and Christina "Conley" to be :)
We celebrated with food,family, friends, love. Thank you to all that were there and those that helped. And thank you to those that were there in spirit your thoughts were felt:) Johnny got so many beautiful gifts as well. We are truly blessed to have so many people that love us and our children. Its nice to know that there are still people out there that you can call true friends and family.

This gown was made by Drew's Grandma, Kay. All of his siblings and Drew wore this gown as well as most of the grandchildren including Ethan. It's a very special thing to have . I hope one day my children and my nieces and nephews children can wear it. I'm glad we baptized Johnny now because if he was any bigger the gown wouldn't of fit! What a meatball:)

Christina and I! I get the pleasure of being one of Christina's bridesmaids. I'm so excited for her and Brian and can't wait to dress up in a pretty dress. I also got to help Christina pick out her wedding dress the other day. What an honor.

Drew and Brian have been best friends since grade school. Brian is a dear friend and he and his family are like our family. Brian's parents and brother were there as well. We just love them !They love our children as well and are like another set of grandparents for Johnny and Ethan.

Serious cake time..so so good. Byerly's bakery is so beautiful and they make the best desserts. I didn't however like the first cake I picked up from them so they made a new one for us. We were supposed to pick up the new one and drop the old one off but they never made it ! I was so upset that they made a new cake and delivered it to the church. I was very impressed with their customer service even though they made a mistake.

Brian, Christina, Drew, Ethan, Johnny and I all went back to our house after church and watched the Vikings game. I have to say that I was impressed by our new QB. All in all it was a good day.

Here are both of the cakes. The blue one was dull and the roses got smashed so I got a completely different color fondont and lettering. The cake itself was marble with white frosting.

Johnny Bananas is 4 months old today and getting big and strong! He weighs about 16.5lbs and is very very long . He can wear sizes anywhere from 6 months to 12 months. My sister in law Amy bought Ethan a outfit, I wanna say for Christmas one year and it fits from 12-18 months and guess who wears it often?... this boy! He is very vocal and loves to sing . We think that he is starting to teeth(how do you spell that?) anyways his cheeks get all rosie and he is a drool machine. He loves to put his hands and his monkey "Rupert" into his mouth . Johnny is normally a really really did I mention really good sleeper except these last few nights he had been up every couple hours..poor boo I bet his sweet little mouth hurts. This little guy has the best personality he is so laid back and chill is weird to know this one came from me :) He loves bath time and is starting to kick and splash in the water. The other night Ethan came in the bathroom for Johnny's bath time and Johnny just gave Ethan "the eye" the entire time and stopped splashing as if to say "really? this is my time with mommy, back off bro" :) Then when Ethan got bored and left Johnny was back to cooing and splashing it was pretty funny. He is just now discovering that he has feet and toes and is pulling them up to his mouth. He has rolled over from belly to back a couple times but really doesn't like tummy time all that well yet. He wears a size 3 diaper and that's all I can think of right now but if I think of more I will add it later:)

Johnny had his second doctors appointment yesterday and he is a big guy! 15.8lbs ! The nurse had to re-weigh him because she thought that she got it wrong..no lady he really is that big:) And I love every inch of his sweet smelling baby face:)

95% for height

90% for weight

50% for head size.

He got his first shots as well. 3 in the leg and one oral one. Even though he cried he handled it like a champ. Johnny can hold his head up very well and he just discovered his own hands. He likes to hold them in a praying position, so very cute. He's also so drooly already its a good thing we have a stockpile of bibs. His personality is so laid back and is such a dream baby. I love you my sweet Banana.

Sorry Johnny, mommy is a couple days late on this post but I still love you.

Your pretty much still doin' the baby thing with a little extra drool though:) Your more aware of your surrounds and are sleeping less during the day. Your a pretty good sleeper at night and can sleep up to 8hrs a night. I wish it was every night but I'll take all the sleep I can get. We all love you so much and couldn't imagine our lives without you.

Emma Krumbees is a apple orchard in Belle Plaine, MN that has pony rides, camel rides, apple picking ,a pumpkin patch, raspberry picking, tractor rides and a bunch of other fun things for kids and adults to do. This is Ethan on a pony for the first time he LOVED it as you can tell:) We were afraid he wouldn't like it cause at the State Fair he was afraid of the big horses, but they are 4 times the size of a pony too.

Drew is such a good daddy. Ethan loves himself some daddy time:) I've heard Ethan say "mommy" a handful of times but I have heard" daddy" about a million:( Someday he'll know his mommy is way cooler than his daddy ;)

I love the way he was holding on so tight :)

It was a rainy Sunday so we all watched football, baked cupcakes and snuggled. I love being a mommy to my little boys.

I would really love to own my own bakery and just feature gourmet cupcakes. I'm going to try to bake a new cupcake every couple of weeks to perfect my skills. I think I enjoy decorating them rather than baking them but I can't do one without the other:)

They are so good. All the raspberries came from our raspberry bushes. Fresh raspberry puree inside along with raspberry cream cheese frosting and topped with a GIANT raspberry! They have the constancy of brownie..gooey and oh so yummy!

State Fair Publication

Last year I submitted some pictures for a contest put on by the Minnesota State Fair. I submitted 6 different pictures and they chose this picture! I got a package in the mail with 4 free tickets to the fair, a coupon book, which my the way was awesome and midway tickets that ended up with us winning a giant banana for our Banana:) The picture was in all of the daily event calender/publication brochures. I'm pretty proud:)

Summer time

So....I'm so behind in our blog and I feel terrible about it so I'm staying up a bit later tonight to catch up on some posts.

This summer Ethan is learning how to play some different sports and learning how to ride a bike!He loves to play T-Ball and I think hes pretty good at it. Although you have to count to three before he will hit the ball and if you don't he will just say " tree" (three) and then hit it. Ethan has really blossomed with his vocab these past 2-3 months. My new favorite words he says are

"weeze"- please

"tank tu"- thank you

"wow, cool" -mostly when he sees a train

my favorite thing really is

"hide it go" which loosely translates to where did it go. He shrugs his shoulders and say is over and over again. His favorite shows to watch right now are Chuggington and The Choo Choo Bob Show. We have been to Choo Choo Bob's twice now and have picked up a DVD while we were there. Also great news is that we FINALLY have central air and a new furnace. I wish we would of had it while I was pregnant because those 120 heat index days were hell being 9 months pregnant, but I survived. Our furnace was installed the same year I was born, 1983 and last year we had some cold nights. I thought our furnace was going to go out last year because it would make some crazy noises but thank god it lasted us until now. We feel like we are living in luxury right now with a controlled environment and can't wait to have a wonderful heated home this winter.

Its so hard to believe that our little guy is already 2 months old. He is smiling all the time and loves to giggle and talk. He still loves to talk most when he is on his changing table. He loves to laugh and stare at his big brother. Johnny is very much a mama's boy..unlike his big brother who is very much about his daddy . I'm the only person that can calm him down and he never cries for me, its good to be the mom:) Sleeping has always been an easy thing for Johnny, he sleeps about 5hrs on average a night and wakes up once for a little snack. He loves to cuddle and is learning how to shake his rattles. He follows you around the room and sometimes gets scared if he cant see you. Johnny is such a wonderful baby and all of us are so in love with him..how couldn't you be:)

Man, we make good looking babies:)

This sweet little guy loves to smile and talk to us when he's on his changing table, especially in the morning. A baby's first smiles and coos are the most beautiful sight and sounds. I could watch and listen to him all day and night:)

Johnny definitely has Drew's and Ethan's eyes when he smiles. I call it the Nelson eye smile. I just love it!

He has some new facial expressions these day and i just love that they do new things everyday. Johnny is 6.5weeks now and is getting so big! He is wearing 3-6 months clothes already and is weighing about 11.5lbs.

This was my delivery and think no matter how our baby comes out as long as they get out is a feat in my book!

And then Drew got white and dizzy and decided it was a good idea to leave the O.R for a bit. This picture makes me smile:)

I had lost a lot of blood and I was in some serious pain for about 3-4hrs, not even morphine could help me so they gave me something else I forgot what it was called but it eventually worked. This was one of the first times I felt well enough to hold Johnny and you know what.. I felt instantly better while I was holding him.

We've waited 13 weeks for our bumper and crib skirt. I hand picked this fabric just for baby boy Nelson:) This was made by a very talented lady on Etsy. Like I have said numerous times I love, love, love Etsy, just about as much as I love Target:) The crib sheet was also hand made by a lady in Israel, all organic and very soft. The bedding is the only thing that we splurged on for the baby . Everything else I either made, reupholstered or got for a great deal! I'm so happy how the room turned out. I have to add some pictures because I forgot that I took pictures with my phone and posted them on Facebook and not with my camera. So I only have the crib and new bedding to post.

Only 14 more days till his name is reveled!!!!!! Ethan tries to say his name and it sounds so sweet to my ears:)

If you seen my previous post on the baby's nursery you'll see I tried to match the dresser fabric with the crib sheet and the blanket that is draped over the glider. The crib sheet is hounds tooth, the dresser is diamonds and the blanket is muscle cars. I like the contrast. I really wasn't going for a theme for his room I just wanted these colors.

I bought this awesome swing for $50.00 at the consignment place that happens 4 times a year called Just Between Friends. They have new or slightly used things for infants . I got a lot of cool stuff. Nothing is better than finding what you need or want for a fraction of the price. I'm a sucker for a good deal!

When we decided to have another baby the first question that came to mind was how old will Ethan be when the baby is born...27 months old was that answer! Now hes 27 months old and "ready" to be a big brother. I can't believe E is 27 months old though. He has learned so much over the last month. We are so proud of him. Although very proud and loving, Drew and I really have to pray a lot because Ethan can really test us when it comes to his tantrums. The terrible two's are in full effect at the Nelson house and pretty much at anyone else's house as well :) Please pray for us in the next month that we can figure this whole new journey out and make sure Ethan doesn't feel left out or less loved.

This past week Daddy gave Ethan his first buzz cut. It makes him look so grown up and so so cute! We just love it and I think E does too. He was a little frightened of the clippers at first but nothing that a little icy couldn't cure:)

And yes that black blurr is my belly ,its kind of hard to keep out of the closeups these days.

Ethan is pretty much obsessed with his blankie and his paci. We have decided to let him keep the paci until he can get used to being a brother first then comes the hijacking of the paci, he can keep his blankie for as long as he would like though :)

A couple things I just want to remind myself of that Ethan says/does at this age

-Bible Book Bop..Owwww ( he loves watching Go Fish). He says this at 5:00am when he jumps in mommy and daddy's bed in the morning.

Bye Doo -translation -Bye Drew. He says this when anyone leaves even if it isn't Drew:)

The Monkey Doo at 26 months.

Here he is, the almost big brother Ethan "Monkey" Nelson!

I always thought the the phrase " terrible twos" was just that..a phrase. NOT! Ethan is such a handful right now. Don't get me wrong I LOVE him more than anything in this world but man is he giving us a run for our money. Every now and then when it gets really bad Drew and I look at each other with the mutual thought of "oh my gosh, I can't believe were having another baby/boy" :) Although a handful he is really a lot of fun. He is learning so much everyday and says new things all the time. My two favorite things he says right now is ..#1) Because I call Drew by his name ,Ethan thinks its OK to do the same. Example: Me( calling him from upstairs) "Drrreeewww" Ethan" Doo" Me " Daadddyyy" Ethan "Doo". Now no matter if I call him Daddy or Drew Ethan still calls him Doo. We were at Target the other day getting Ethan new shoes and I got a call from Drew and after that the whole time we were there Ethan was calling for Doo wondering where he was :) #2) Every time before we eat Ethan crosses his hands and prays with us. When the prayer is done he exclaims " A Mean" aka amen:)

Ethan is also very much in love with Buzz Lightyear (Booze as Ethan calls him) and Toy Story 2. We pretty much watch it everyday.

I have to admit Ethan is my little buddy and my whole heart right now. I'm getting pretty nervous about having another baby because I don't want him to feel that mommy is "leaving him" for someone else. It breaks my heart knowing that I will have to pay a bit more attention to this little guy on the way for awhile. I also wonder how I can love someone as much as Ethan. I mean I already love this little man inside of me so much but ...oh man these hormones are killin' me!

He looks so much like Drew especially when he smiles. Its the shape of his eyes I think.

Another example of" The Nelson eye smile". It reminds he a lot of Grandpa Bruce and Drew.

And when your 8 months pregnant and your kiddo poops his pants it's so much easier to bring the diapers and wipes outside and change his pants in the garage :P .It was warm and I used the coffee table to change him. Hey, I'm improvising.

Easter Sunday is a pretty traditional day for us. We go to Church in the afternoon then off to G.G's for brunch. Last year during church service Ethan went in the nursery. He was in there with a handful of other children but this year he was all alone in the nursery. Maybe he was shy last year around the other children, but this year he had no problem poop'in all over his Easter clothes:) I went to pick him up after service and the lady that was watching him told me that she had to soak his onesie and that he had poo on his shirt..perfect! That outfit *cough* GAP outfit *cough* wasn't on him for more than 2hrs and he make a mess of it. Oh well, kids will be kids:)

JUNE 22!

30 Weeks!

Yesterday I had my 30 week checkup and had an appointment with the doctor who will be performing my c-section , Dr. Ashford. He set the c-section date which will be JUNE 22! We weren't given a choice in the date but at least this way we had a little surprise when they called us today. So as of today 63 days or as I like to say, 8.5 weeks left . That's on a Wednesday and I will likely be there for 3 days. We have to be there by 6:00am and the surgery is scheduled for 8:00am. I've never been so excited to have major surgery in my life. Can't wait! Yesterday when I was getting my checkup by Dr. Ashford he did my fundal belly size and I'm measuring 30 weeks but a little bigger ...I don't want to say that I'm measuring big because that's not what he meant . He just said that there is no small baby in there :) . Because I'm borderline diabetic this baby might be a bit bigger than his bro. Drew estimates 9lbs 4oz, I said 8lbs 14oz .. but, we will see. Ethan was 7lbs 14oz, 20 3/4 inches long. We go again tomorrow to see the baby ( I wish I could just give his initial but Drew is being a poop and won't let me say) in 4D and hope he is active and turns his sweet little face around so we can see him! Pictures to follow! Speaking of pictures... I did a wedding last Saturday and I was so so proud of myself being 7 months pregnant and all. I didn't think that I could do as much as I did but I proved myself wrong, the pictures tuned out great and the bride was so happy .. that's all I care about :) I was very very tired the next day but no swollen feet yet! I have a newborn session, a family, and sibling pictures within the next 8 weeks. I was very disappointed to have to say no to the 4 brides that wanted wedding pictures taken in June and July but I have to think about my children and body first :) I do have a wedding in September booked though which I'm looking forward too. I've been looking into going back to school to get my Bachelors in Fine Arts for photography but its 86K$$$$$ Holy Buckets! That sounds like a nice size student loan :(

We had our 4/D appointment today and had the pleasure of seeing Baby # 2 ..such a cool experience! Some people say that they would like to wait and see what they are having and wait to see what the baby looks like but not me ..I'm way to nosie(sp?) I want to know whats going to happen before it happens, maybe that's the control freak in me. There is still lots of surprises coming our way so we decided to go ahead and have a mini date and see the baby. The first one looks like Ethan and his little brother have a similar profile and the same nose! You can compare to Ethan's 3/D pictures at the bottom. We get to go back for free in 1-2 weeks to see if we can get a better straight on shot of his face because he was all curled up and being shy.

Ethan is 25 months old!

We have been putting money into piggy bank for him to save. He also has a savings account but its much more fun to put the money the piggy bank, don't you think? Ethan is such a daddy's boy...he sure loves him.

I love my boys. I can't wait till my 3 boys are all together !

Uggh, I dislike his paci. He's obsessed and I want to get rid of it but with the new baby coming I don't want to take it away just yet.

Mimi gave Ethan a robe for his birthday . He looks so grown up in it don't you think?

On another note Ethan can get out of his crib by himself..lovely:( This morning I was awaken to a soft caress on my face with a sweet little voice saying " hi". It's very cute but blows my mind at the same time. Our first baby is no baby and I have a hard time accepting this I have to admit.

28 weeks!

We'll that time of year as arrived ..I'm in my 3rd trimester according to my OB! Finally! Good news and OK news arrived last week. I passed my glucose tolerance test but barley . I was right on the edge of having GD. I don't want to jinx myself but I feel that when we decided to have baby #3 I will have it because each baby gets me closer to it. I've read a bunch of studies and I guess its very common to have it but either way BOO to that. I have been doing my best to eat healthy and exercise this entire pregnancy so I'm already on the right track. I had my 28 week appointment yesterday and I haven't even gained a 1/3 of what I gained with Ethan and that makes me SUPER happy . I guess eating right and exercising does have a lot to do with it, who knew? :) We made an appointment with Dr. Ashford on April 19th to discuss the C-Section date and what goes along with having a planned C-Section rather than a emergency one like last time. Dr.Ashford is the same doctor who performed my surgery for my cervical cancer that I had when I was 19-20. I trust him with my life! He's such a great man . Honestly, people might think I'm nuts but I'm so happy to be getting a C-Section for the second time. Labor is just not for me and I had the worst labor with Ethan I seriously just wanted to die..no fun. I was glad to hear the words C-Section come from my doctor at the 26th hour. The day of the C-Section will be between the 21st and the 25th of June. So that leaves me with a little less than 11 weeks left!!

On Saturday Drew and I have a HD 4/D Ultrasound just for fun. We had one with Ethan but it was done at the hospital because they thought I had low amniotic fluid . They had a 3/D machine and it was so neat to see his sweet little face. Cant wait to see what this little guy looks like. We think that Ethan looks like Drew and has my personality which is pretty high strung and can be "slightly" dramatic at times hehe:) I hope that this little guy looks like me this time and has Drew's laid back and calm personality :) I wonder what it would be like to have a newborn/baby/toddler that sleeps????

This room was originally Ethan's nursery until we moved him into our spare bedroom which is now his big boy room. Soon it will be a train themed room because as you know he loves choo choos.

Ethan was very interested in what daddy was doing in the room. He watched everyday that he was in there along with Dougie and Dewie.

We started off the room in an antique white.

Watching patiently again:)

Drew is a master painter, he is so good at doing anything that needs to be done in the house. We are so lucky.

I found the most beautiful shimmer gray for the stripes. Martha Stewart paint to be precise! It was a bit more expensive than regular egg shell paint but we think it was worth it. We bought a different color gray at first and it looked blue on the walls so we decided to try the shimmer gray and I'm glad we did!

Because Ethan was our first child we really spared no expense on the furniture we bought him. Drew and I realize now that it was not so good choice on our end . Even though he can use the amoire and dresser for years and years and his bed turns into a toddler bed and a big boy bed. This time we decided to be more creative and thrifty! This was lots of fun for me to find good deals and fun things to do with inexspensive furniture. We bought the crib from Babies R Us again.. same brand as Ethan's but because it was the only one left that I wanted they sold the floor model to us. It was originally $495.00 and they marked it down 60%!!! I saw a tiny scratch on the bottom and asked if they could go down another 10% and to my amazement they said yes!! I guess it never hurts to ask. I love his crib its so purty.

The amoire in this picture is also from Babies R Us but we found it on Craigslist listed for $150.00 and we bought it for $100.00. Drew and I borrowed my mom's van and drove down to Buffalo, MN and picked up this beautiful amoire from a super nice family with two little boys too! We now have a hook up for buying beef because they own a farm and sell cow meat. Fun huh?!

I found this dresser on Craigslist as well listed for $100.00 and we bought it for $75.00. The fronts of this dresser were ugly so I decided to upholster it with this fun fabric. The crib sheets that we bought are houndstooth but this is the closest fabric I could find to it. I'm so proud of myself because I think it looks beautiful :)

Etsy is another place I LOVE and I found this organic handmade blankie that matched the theme we are going for which is kind of 50's retro. The colors of the room will be black, white, cream ,gray and yellow when all said and done. Were still waiting on the crib sheet, bumper and skirt but they will take 8 weeks to be here because they are being made just for baby Nelson!

And when your busy taking pictures to blog with your 2 year old is crawling from his rocker to his dresser to comb his hair with one sandal on. What a silly Monkey!

26 weeks

I should probably do a post with a baby #2 update . Well, as you can tell by the blog post title I'm 26 weeks so far .This pregnancy is a bit different from Ethan's in the sense that I still don't feel 100% yet. With Ethan the icky feeling only lasted until about 18 weeks. 2 weeks ago I went in to do the ever so lovely glucose test and failed by 3 little points, just like with Ethan and now Friday I have to do the 3 hour test . THAT TEST IS HORRIBLE!!! Last time I passed out on the last stick because my sugar level was 52! With technology these days there should be a better was of doing this dumb test. I would really like to tell the doctors where they can stick this test..hehe, but I have to do it for the well being of my baby. I do pray that the results are the same with this one as they were with E. Negative! Drew is coming with me so I can keep sane and have some company, I love him :)More great news..I'm anemic! Yay:( No wonder why I can barley breathe and I' so sleepy, I have no RBC's left. Normal levels are 13 and mine were about 10. I have to take iron supplements now and I try and eat iron rich foods which seem to help a bit. No wonder why I'm always so tired. Working all day and then being a mommy and wife after work wares me out. I've started doing some photography on the side again too, but I limit myself to what I can handle with that .
This little guy is pretty active which makes me happy. The only exciting part of pregnancy for me is feeling life inside my body move. I'm still on my treadmill and drinking TONS of water to keep my weight at a minimum as well. I haven't had any swelling yet ( knock on wood) but my calf's feel like tree trunks sometimes. We schedule our C-section in a couple weeks which makes me excited because that means that the time is almost here for the baby to be in his room and not in my belly! We have decided to paint the nursery this weekend and get the room in order. We bought the crib from Babies R Us last week and I'm just anxious to get the room done. The colors are black, cream, gray and yellow. I bought all the bedding from Etsy. I love Etsy they have all handmade things and I designed most of it. All organic and oh so soft. I can't wait to see how big brother Ethan reacts to the whole thing. That's what I'm most excited about I think also seeing what he looks like and telling everyone his name.

Snow Time Fun

A couple of days ago it was nice enough to go outside and play in the snow. I want to say that it was a stunning 35 degrees outside. For us Minnesotans that's close to bikini weather:) I'm not a fan of cold weather (go figure I live in one of the coldest states)but I thought that we should bring Ethan outside to decide if he is . He didn't mind the snow but he didn't like getting his hands wet or cold. He did however LOVE jumping in the puddles. He had fun until it was time to go in..you can tell in the last picture he wasn't too happy to be leaving his puddles .

Watching him walk in his big boy boots made me laugh uncontrollably. I said he looked like Frankenstein. Drew said he looked like Darth Vader when he gets his legs ...haha

Since I'm so late in posting this I thought I would just share Ethan's Valentine in his 23 month post. We love our sweet little Monkey Doo. Next month we will have a 2 year old!!! WHAT?!

Ethan is starting to say two word sentences and his favorite thing to say is "Aoul Bord Choo Choo!!" Which means "All aboard the choo choo" . I would say that he has about 15-20words right now and is a very good listener and follows directions pretty well. I'm so proud of him and he is such a great son. Love you boo boo.

We found out today that Ethan is going to have a little brother.I know no matter what we were having it was going to be a new fun experience and a challenge. Let us pray that this little one is just a bit opposite from his older brother with his sleeping habits and colic.

I wonder what he'll look like and if he will have a lot of comparison to Ethan. I can't wait to get his room all ready and painted with a new crib and all sorts of fun baby stuff. We already have so MUCH stuff for a boy that it will be an easy transition for us.

Man, there is going to be a lot of testosterone in this house pretty soon!

This past weekend we wanted to introduce finger painting to Ethan.

Ethan is a lot like Drew in the way that he doesn't like to get messy/dirty so this wasn't the best time :( He touched it and tried to eat it and neither was working for him. Maybe when he gets a bit older he will start to show some of my traits too like the "free spirit" I inhibit.

He just wanted to get the paint off his hands..what a silly little guy:)

We did however do a quick project that we plan to frame soon. I love the prints of all of our hands.

We went to the sink to clean him off and he didn't really like that either as you can tell.

I think he must of been getting tired cause he was being cranky pants Nelson.

Baby Bean Update!

I just wanted to do a quick update on our growing baby . I'm almost 17 weeks along and the baby is growing at the right rate. We get an ultrasound done every two weeks from 12-24 weeks then every week until 40weeks. I had cervical cancer at the age of 20 and I had to have a couple different kinds of surgery done to remove the cells to prevent me from actually having to do chemo . Along with that they had to cut a piece of my cervix off so I'm considered a high risk pregnancy. Each week they do a tummy ultrasound and a inter vaginal ultrasound..ick i hate that word! Anyways, they look to see if my cervix is shrinking . If it shrinks to much then I would have to have a cervical cealage, which basically is like a hammock to keep the baby "in" . We had no problems with Ethan, but each child we have its necessary to have these every two weeks. And hey, who am I kidding I get to see my baby all the time and get paid to leave work and spend some time with my hubs:)
I'm about 85% better in the case of the HG ( hyperemesis gravidarum) . I only feel icky at night sometimes now. I'm not sure if its from the excessive throwing up but I've only gained 12lbs and that's good for me considering at this point in the game with Ethan I was over 30lbs...yes I know WOW! I also exercises on my treadmill frequently. I also can feel the baby move/kick . Little flutters started around last week or so:) Last Tuesday we tried to tell the gender of the baby but we couldn't tell 100% was it was so next Tuesday( 18weeks) we hope to find out . I think its a girl and Drew thinks it a boy, so we shall see. I keep having dreams that someone tells me "Your having a girl". It could just be that I may want a girl, but I will be happy with whatever God blesses us with .
* I do have pics from 14 and 16 weeks that I have to put on here but our scanner is broke so I have to take a picture of the picture and upload it .

For some reason he wont do it unless he actually sees my tummy. He will grab the bottom of my shirt and pull it up. He's so funny. Most of the time he just yells at my tummy. I say some sibling rivalry already. Of course all in love :)

Instead of having Christmas dinner at Drew's grandmas we had dinner at my Aunt Jill's house. This is Grandpa Larry and Ethan's back hahaha. He was such a good boy ALL DAY but didn't want to be held for pictures as you can tell:)

This was taken Christmas Eve. I didn't get a lot of pictures from Christmas Eve because I was busy watching Ethan and he was very very active that night. We weren't too sure how Christmas was going to pan out after Christmas Eve but it turned out to be great.

Drew's mom trys to get a picture of her kids and grandchildren every year on the stairs. Not an easy feat at the end of the night, but it worked out. Ethan was really the only one who didn't want to take a picture as you can see. What a silly little guy.

G.G, Drew and Ethan. Grandma Shannon is such a classy and beautiful lady . We had tons of treats for Christmas dessert this year the table was full of ginger bread men, cookies and pies. I made Oreo Balls which people seemed to of liked. I know I like them..yumm! I wish I would of taken a picture of them.

Gloria is very good at the piano and was giving Avery and Ethan some good pointers.

Christmas Morn

Christmas Morning was fun this year . Drew, I and Ethan woke up about 7:00am and went downstairs to see what Santa had brought us. We looked to see if he ate his cookies and drank his milk. Santa must of been stuffed form all the sweets he had been eating that night because he only had a bite of the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies we left for him :)

Ethan loved opening his presents! When we found something that he really liked he paid no attention to the rest of the gifts and would just play with the ones he had already opened.

He loved the remote control car that Santa brought.

But most of all he loved the "Choo Choo" that daddy picked out for him. He brought it with him all day, wherever he went the train went to.

After we opened our family's gifts we went over to spend some at Grandma and Grandpa's house with Bill, Amy, Gloria, Violet, Lukey and Isaiah.

These are Ethan's cousins. Eloise was at home with her mommy and daddy(Becky and Jeff) on Christmas morning this year to have a special Christmas at their house:)

Amy and I snapped about 50 shots of this picture just to get one that was good. These kiddos are pretty active especially Lukey Boy and Ethan. Next year we will have a 6 month old for Gloria or Violet to hold for the picture! This family is growing fast!

Were having another baby!!!

Drew and I always knew we wanted more then one child because we wanted to give Ethan a sibling. I was an only child till I was about 12 and by that time I had already hunted for lots of Easter eggs alone and and opened up Christmas presents with my mom. No offence mom but it wasn't as fun as if I had someone my own age to hang with . So for those reasons plus reasons of our own we wanted another baby. We wanted this one to have a summer birthday because Ethan has a winter one .Which meant that we needed to conceive in Oct, Nov or Dec. We started trying and low and behold that same month(Oct) I'm pregnant!!!! I'm a little over 12 weeks and the other day we got to see the baby's heartbeat and hear it too. My doctor said it was very loud and strong which was a good thing. Like with Ethan this time around I'm sick again :( If anyone doesn't know what this feels like count your lucky stars you don't because its horrible and sometimes a bit overwhelming. With Ethan I had the opportunity to take naps and sleep in whenever I wanted. This time is a bit different because we already have a great responsibility with our crazy little Monkey. I'm so tired and forget that I'm sick sometimes because I'm busy changing diapers and chasing after Ethan' which is a good thing :) I still work 40+hrs a week and do the mommy, wife and friend thing which wipes me out at the end of the day. I put my photography for others on the side for now until I feel better and have more energy to keep up with my already crazy life. I'm usually in bed by 9 or so sometimes earlier. It might seem crazy but I swear I feel little flutters already from this one. Maybe I just know what it feels like and I'm more aware of it ..no its not just gas people :) I've only gained 4lbs so far and I plan to keep the weight gain at a minimal if I can. I'm still on the treadmill and push myself even when I'm not feeling the greatest..it helps.

Drew and I are so excited and last night I'm pretty sure we picked out a boy name and a girl name for baby bean Nelson!! And we LOVE them both!!!! Our list consisted of 5 girls names and 3 boys name. Every time we would read a name out out loud it either reminded me of someone or Drew of someone and those were all no go's. Although I would like to share one with you that Drew actually really liked that I was like " Uh, did you bump your head? There is no way I would name my son Wolf" hahaha Drew is loony sometimes. He has been growing his beard out since we found out and the agreement is that he grows his beard out until the baby comes. Call me crazy butI love a scruffy beard face ;)) We'll see how long he can go before he goes crazy and shaves it . But anyways that's why he thought the name Wolf was cool because he looks like a wolf himself .

I keep having dreams that a woman dressed in a long white dress with long brown hair tells me very distinctly that "your having a girl" and I keep seeing the baby as a girl in my dreams. Maybe its just my own thoughts before I go to bed but I feel this one is a girl or maybe its the fact that I don't want to be preggo again because as much as I LOVE my babies I DON'T like being pregnant..just being honest. If this one is a girl I think that's it, if not well then 3 is the limit for us whether or not I have 3 boys . Don't get me wrong I love little boys but I think it would be fun to have a girl too, mix it up a little.

This year I received one of my most treasured gifts to date. Anyone who knows Danielle knows that she lived in hoodies and pajama pants at her house . I have a lot of her hoodies and a pair of her pajama pants that I wear to bed almost every night. They are really comfy, now I know why she "lived" in them:) Danielle's mom Tracy had 2 bears made out of her favorite pj pants . I can still picture her standing in her kitchen wearing these pants with her Twins hoodie on drinking ice water from her pink Las Vegas cup leaning against the kitchen sink. Kinda weird, but I can picture these clothes on her and I would make fun of the fact that she had the skinniest legs and the biggest boobs :)..one of Danielle's many amazing trademarks along with her "deep" laugh :)..if you ever heard it you know what I'm talking about. Andrea ( Danielle's sister in law) my good friend received the other one. Tracy gave these to us last night and of course we all were a blubbering mess after that..thanks a lot Tracy ..just kidding we LOVE them as much as we love you Bill and Andy.

I also really wanted something that I could keep on our tree every year to keep her in our hearts especially around Christmas time . Andrea found a beautiful piece of jewelry from Danielle's jewelry box of a butterfly which is the meaning of life, which is quite fitting now that we expect new life this summer. Where there is death there is life...you know like a butterflies life's stages. Tracy also gave us an ornament of a snowman with Danielle's name on it that had been on their tree.

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about her and I'm sure that will be like that forever and I'm good with that

We put the teddy bear in our glass cabinet with all of our other precious keepsakes.

During the blizzard this year while it snowed 17 inches or so I was inside taking pictures of Ethan. I needed a new one for our Christmas card so these are the best ones out of the bunch. I swear I have to bribe him with sugar to stay still now :)

That bear behind Ethan was Drew's bear when he was little. It's name is Wookie Warie, I think I spelled that right.

I had to add this on this post because it's part of Christmas. We took Ethan to see Santa again this year . I really like this Santa' he's very sweet and Ethan wouldn't of been crying if we hadn't waited 45 min to see him . As soon as it was our turn Ethan had enough of waiting and was just tired and crabby. Santa gave him a candy cane and he kept trying to shove it in Santa's mouth..kinda funny. When I picked him up his butt felt wet too..sorry Santa :)! Next year right?I actually love this picture, it's a classic look .

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was a short one for us. I wasn't feeling very well, Drew wasn't feeling very well and Ethan had too much energy:) We spent the majority of the time at Grandma Shannon's trying to keep Ethan entertained and out of trouble. I didn't get very many pictures because Ethan barley ever sits still and to be honest I just wasn't in the mood..sounds bad huh?

Oh well I take lots of pictures of our little Monkey and at least I got some right?

21 months

Ethan turned 21 months old today and I can't believe that we will have a 2 year old kid soon..3 months left! Ethan is such a joy and usually always a happy toddler. Don't get me wrong he does have his cranky days. Ethan is down to one nap a day when in reality I think he should be getting two , but he refuses and just goes to bed a bit early. On a good note he has been waking up at 7:45am almost every morning!! Yippie!

I've been worried because he doesn't "talk" a whole lot yet ..he does say words just not consistently. He babbles all day and is very smart and tries to be very precise especially when playing with his Choo Choo Trains. He always makes sure the trains are on the track and makes sure they all go the right way. I love watching him play, it's just so amazing to me that Drew and I created such beautiful life. You should see him get up and down the stairs now hes a pro..cruises right up and slides right down. He still loves to jump and has great balance. He likes to dance and twirl in circles which makes me a bit nauseous to watch :)

Such a good helper..except when he takes the ornaments all off the tree and tries to give them to Dewie...stinker .

He's in such awe of the tree as I am too. The look of Christmas Tree makes me feel peaceful inside.

Halloween Part 2. Oct 31st

We didn't do much for Halloween just carved pumpkins and took Ethan over to G.G's to go Trick or Treating. Ethan isn't old enough to understand the whole concept and probably would get cranky fast so we just did a small family thing. Here are some pictures of all of us on Halloween carving pumpkins!

Ethan really enjoyed sticking his hands in the pumpkins and pulling out the insides.

He must of loved the taste of the pumpkin guts because he kept trying to eat it. He particularly liked the seeds.

Anyone who knows me knows that my favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas. As a little girl I loved to play pretend and what better holiday can you dress up and act like a kid again. Halloween doesn't discriminate against age. On the 29th I'll be at a Halloween themed wedding reception taking pictures and then Drew and I are going to a Halloween party.Then on the 30th we celebrate Halloween by carving pumpkins and going trick or treating!!!

Here is Ethan's costume! A kangaroo! He jumps EVERYWHERE all day long so what better costume for a hopper. I want to send out Halloween cards again this year but Drew doesn't like these pictures enough and isn't satisfied ....what a perfectionist and slight weirdo :P

The only way to keep him still was to put him on the slide so I'm not sure how Drew wants so keep him still standing up? It will be a fun challenge that's for sure.

Last Sunday Ethan and I met up with my friend Denise and her family to take some pictures for her. She suggested I bring Ethan along to play with Axel and Zoe. Ethan was a good boy and it was fun to see him interact with friends his own age. Axel is only 3 weeks younger than Ethan. They both were full of love and hugs!

Denise made this hat for Ethan. She is seriously so talented when it comes to knitting and making things like this. Axel has a whole wardrobe full of these goodies :)

This was one of the most unique pumpkin patches that I've ever seen. They let you go pick your own pumpkin from the patch . Cut it off the vine and its yours! Ethan and Axel were having a heck of a time walking through the vines, I can't tell you how many times they tripped and how dirty they were.

He had no fear of those cows. He would walk right up to them and try to touch them. A little scary for me though.

Who's a Big Boy?

Ethan is a BIG BOY!!!!!

19 months old today!

Ethan is getting so big and growing in every way possible. He is learning new words and actions all the time. Although he really doesn't "talk" with a whole lot of words yet he is very expressive in what he needs or wants. He jumps all over the place. Literally jumps from one end of the house to the other. He hates when you try to hold his hand and lead him somewhere...Mr. Independent-wonder where he gets that from -me ? Naw :)

He does "so big" I love that!

He puts his finger up to his lips and says " shhhh" usually his finger ends up in his nose.

He is almost getting too big for 18 month clothes. I cant believe in 5 months my little tiny baby boy will be 2. Wow!

He likes to climb on the chairs in our kitchen and has taken a few spills. We don't let him do this but I feel like its almost impossible to keep him off them or the couch.

He is still very allergic to dairy and has had some really BAD bloody noses in the middle of the night because of them. We have figured out that its not a dry environment causing them its dairy. We read everything we give him to ensure that we don't wake up to a bloody Ethan. Poor little guy.

I tried to scrape all the frosting off of the cupcake but he still got some ..no bloody nose that night thank goodness.

He is still very much a lovey and cuddly toddler just like his daddy was!

These jammies are 18 month in size and we barley could zip them up . They look kind of tight huh?

I honestly don't know what I would do without Drew. He's always there for me, makes me feel safe and when I'm down he reassures me that everything will be ok. He ALWAYS makes me laugh and is such a good daddy. Not only is he one hot dude ;) but he has a heart of gold. I hate if I have to go a whole day without seeing him.

Drew lets Ethan play with the video game controller and he actually steers the guy around and looks very intrigued. It's really cute because he grunts at the screen and says "Goya, Goya" whatever that means? haha

I LOATHE video games unless it's Mario Cart cause its pointless and useless in my opinion . I don't want Ethan to be a video game player EVER...that would be my worst nightmare! Drew plays sometimes when Ethan goes to bed and while I edit pictures . That doesn't bother me as much because I'm not paying attention :)

Dewie is such a good puppy. Day and night from Dolly. Don't get me wrong we loved Dolly, but she just wasn't right for our family. Dewie on the other hand is a smart dog he know to go outside to potty and has only had a couple of accidents since we have had him, which is about 2 weeks now. Dougie has a bit of hop back in his step these days with his new brother by his side. They chase each other in the yard and snuggle together when taking a snooze. Ethan could care less about the puppy. He's too busy jumping around the house and trying to climb on all the furniture. I don't know how many time a day I say "no, no Ethan we don't stand on the couch/chairs"

When we take him out at night we have to bring the flashlight because he's so dark we'll lose him out there!

He kind of looks creepy here :)

The first day we brought him home he stole Ethan's paci. He continues to do so . This might be a perfect way to get rid of the paci habit?

Ethan's boo boo

What a horrific experience for a parent when their child gets hurt. Even though this was just a medium size burn it was all my fault and I felt so bad. My curling iron had been broken for like 6 months prior to this. When Danielle died her parents gave me a bunch of her stuff including her curling iron. I'm not used to having one on in the house so I plugged it in and turned it on to the highest setting and left the bathroom to feed Ethan breakfast. After breakfast I let Ethan down not thinking about the curling iron . All of a sudden I heard the most horrible scream. I ran to him and found the curling iron on the bathroom floor. I could smell how hot it was. He screamed for 2 hours until he got tired. We tried burn cream but putting that on a 1.5yr old isn't easy. I'm not sure if he grabbed the iron and dropped it on his arm but either way it wasn't fun and I'm sure it hurt him so bad. Sorry buddy, mommy feels so bad :(

Its clearing up nicely though. His hand is all better and his arm is still a bit red, but I have been putting Neosporin on it to take away any scaring

This was Ethan's first time at the State Fair if you don't count the time he was in my belly :) And the first time we went as a family.

It was so hot the day we went so we didn't stay very long. We ate some yummy fried food and showed Ethan around. I love experiencing new things with him.

Danielle, Kelly and I worked at this stand for many years. I want to say since we were 15 to about 21? Sounds about right. I had lots of fun memories walking by this stand so I took a quick picture. First year I didn't get to go to the fair with her in a long time :(

We weren't sure what Ethan thought about the horses, but they were all so beautiful and BIG!

Every time we ask Ethan " what does the piggy say?" he waits for us to "oink" at him and he cracks up. I'm so in love with my little man.

I'm going to be entering some of these photos to the MN State Fair for publication. If I get picked we get free tickets to the fair and some other stuff. Hey it's worth it! Just to walk into the fair its $11.00 for adults and that's not including parking which is around $20.00 if you don't park and ride. Its too hard to park and ride with a little one.

That swing out there is SO HIGH! I'm not a big fan of going on or letting Ethan go on rides that are set up and taken down every two week so I steer clear of the rides. Although this year my friend Crista and I went on one of the more "scary" rides..it was worth it!

I have never eaten something more amazing in my life! If you haven't tried the fried pickles or the fired green tomatoes I HIGHLY suggest it. Man, I want some right now!!!

Ethan always tries to put our shoes on himself and sometimes his shoes on us:) Although daddy gave him a bit of help this time.
